When will Liberals learn? In a classic smackdown, Peter Van Loan catches Ken Dryden trying to play martyr when Dryden himself is party to an attempt to let Corporations back into politics. Luckily the scheme was caught and halted thanks to Conservatives like blogger Stephen Taylor and great politicians like MP’s Pierre Poilievre and Peter Van Loan.

Thanks post posting! Conservatives are doing a great job!

What a dorky comment by a dorky fat conservative. VanLoan is a single, 40 year old unmarried angry nerd.

Hate to break anyone else’s political afilliation, but if we keep these two parties arguing back and forth until the next while, either 90% of my taxes will go to Alberta corporations and the other 10 go to rich Liberal supporters in Vancouver Quadra, or that all goes to Harper no one else.

The liberals will say anything and do anything to get elected.
Their corruption goes right to the bone.

I’m not a Liberal by any means but Van Loan still doesn’t answer the question. Dryden is talking about funding for groups like Status of Women and BEYOND funding the Conservatives have removed their ability to be pro active in any sense or even conduct research.
Fine the Liberals had some big ass fund raising event. Whatever, all the big parties do it. I don’t agree with it but what can you do all three are slimy.
So don’t act so coy and avoid the real issue. Minoritie are being silenced.

I’m going to write this in a email, rather than a reply. It’s going to be too long to do it here.

The young Tories would be proud. I haven’t voted Liberal in the last two Federal elections. Actually voted PC two elections ago.
Simple point: Van Loan is not a moral authority given his appalling record. Even right-wing Globe and Mail is tired of Van Loan. This is my point. Dryden is also an idiot.
I have no political affiliations, do you? Do you belong to the Conservative party?

I agree, but then again, nobody should be surprised that they don’t stop. Anytime one challenges the Liberals, they’ll either stray off-topic, raise irrelevant points, not address the facts, or try to conclude their arguments by straw-manning spotty assumptions into you.
The sad part is that they claim to act non-partisan when their logic and reasoning are filled with partisan propaganda. Just check out the comments by greatbigsteve on this board and you’ll know what I mean.

And for “staying on topic”, let’s make this CRYSTAL CLEAR: if the Liberals want to regain voter confidence (vid title: WHEN WILL LIBERALS LEARN?) then they should stop doing illegal things (as PVL had said in the vid).
Dryden can talk about bullying all he wants but HIM AND HIS PARTY ARE INVOLVED IN AN ILLEGAL ACT (AGAIN!). That’s the vid’s topic, not PVL’s abilities as an MP. If you don’t like PVL, vote him out of office (again, VOTE YOUR CONSCIENCE, something you STILL haven’t caught on).

And in case you still can’t see it: ANY PARTY BREAKING THE LAW MUST PAY, it’s the 3rd time I’ve written it now. It’s the most NON-PARTISAN THING beind said in the entire disucions, but something you surprisingly haven’t caught on.
Whether you like PVL or not is IRRELEVANT. What’s TRUE AND RELEVANT is that the Liberals broke the law before, and are doing it AGAIN. PVL may be no angel, but wrongdoing is wrongdoing. The most you can say is that both sides aren’t innocent; NO MORE, NO LESS.

Alright, my turn:
Ken Dryden: No moral authority on criticizing others for drowning out voices.
Liberals and Dion: Broke the law and caught red-handed (not the first time, either).
PVL: Regardless of his abilities, he should be able to point out others breaking the law.
Me: Never attacked you for your views, told you to vote your conscience, and tried to stay non-partisan, and argued with facts that STAYED ON TOPIC (Dryden being caught breaking the law).

Attack against, you? YAWN -better read a little more closely, dude.
I’ll break down my posts real simple like so you don’t get confused.
PVL:
Not a moral authority on anything — full of rhetoric, short on substance.
In private sector pro-development, as MP, pro-environment.
Conservatives are doing all the terrible things they accused the Liberals of – in spades (including crooked election financing).
Right-wing Globe and Mail even agrees
Partisan politics is ruining Canada — kapeesh?

I never said you must support the Conservatives. In my review, I clearly said “vote your conscience” (something that you conveniently overlooked in your attack against me). But the Liberals, in my mind, are still not a better option because they selected a pathetic failure as leader. He messed up intergov affairs with Adscam, and had no plan for Kyoto. What kind of leader is that?
Same incompetent man, same poor leadership, same corrupt party, and that’s why Dion WILL NOT be my next PM.
Wallpaper Union
And before you accuse the Conservatives of relying on suing others to cover up their record , please remember that Chretien sued first when he took Gomery to court to invalidate his report.
And even as arrests were being made last month regarding Adscam, the Liberals are still lying by branding their leader as having “unimpeachable integrity.” Dion was in charge of intergov affairs during Adscam, so what’s his excuse for letting it blow out of proportion?
E Law Blog
Partisan? Looks like you’re the one being partisan here. I said clearly “if you break the law you must pay, regardless of the party.” That means Liberals, Conservatives, NDP, Bloc, and Greens even.
I love the fact that you took something that simple and turned it into a partisan attack. Moreover, the Liberals still have not returned even 1/10 of the $40 million they stole from us. If PVL has no authority to lecture on financing, then Dryden even less authority on that.
photo box 5
LOL! You’re going to give a lecture about election financing in support of the Conservatives given the current election financing scandals?
Read the news, sonny, before you too sanctimonious about Liberal election fraud.
For the record, Liberal Alphonso Galiano belongs in jail. For the record, the Conservative have broken every election promise about integrity since they have been in office.
Van Loan is still no moral authority on anything, I’m sorry you’r too partisan to get it…

That’s the topic of the video here: why the Liberals are engaging in this illegal act all the while accusing others of drowning out voices. I don’t see anything in the video that comments Peter Van Loan’s ability as an MP.
What party you vote for is irrelevant; as voters, we can vote our conscience. But one thing’s for certain: if you break the law you must pay, regardless of the party. This time, it’s the Liberals who did it, and I don’t see anything wrong with Van Loan pointing that out.
Giga Flux
No, YOU stay alert, and read the title and see the content more carefully. Ken Dryden is wondering why Conservatives are taking out people’s voices, but Van Loan is pointing out that it’s the Liberals that are doing that with this fundraiser.
Moreover, it’s an ILLEGAL tactic, meaning it must be pointed out and stopped. Anybody, Van Loan or not, should be able to point that out and hold them accountable.
E Law Blog
I thought Youtube was an oppotunity to discuss issues and offer opinions. This is a clip of Peter Van Loan. I posted an opinion about Peter Van Loan. It’s hard to follow, I know, but stay alert and you might catch on.
Have I written Van Loan? Several times and he has yet to respond.
Am I a Liberal? Depends on the issue. I have voted for every party at one time or another -including the Conservatives.
Do Conservatives love labels? Yes-it’s the only way the world makes sense to them.
Giga Flux
And this has to do with the video because?
Van Loan’s skills as an MP is irrelevant here. The Liberals have broken the law, and anyone should be able to point that out and hold them accountable. The sad part is that they’ve been caught before in the sponsorship scandal, taking $40 million from us, and haven’t even paid back 1/10 of it.
If you’re so against Van Loan, then write to him and tell him to do better. But until then, please stay on topic (something Liberals don’t do well).
